Some people do make their own cat food. However, it is much more difficult
than it sounds -- it's important to have the right percentage of vital
nutrients. I think you would be better off buying premium cat food with *no
gluten.* The gluten did not cause the problem, but it does appear that the
gluten was contaminatd with the actual cause -- and cats simply do not need
gluten anyway. Here's a site with links to updated information on the pet
food recall. It includes links both to foods that have been recalled and
foods (with descriptions/explanations) of those that have NOT been recalled.

Thank you MaryL for the link, actually I was thinking inline of
treats, making my own low fat doggie biscuits, my cats are too fussy
eaters to try and attempt them but Benji loves treats.
