Hi, up here in the Fresno area, many of our neighbors are converting to
bidets, due to health and other concerns. We took the plunge (no pun
intended) last month and converted our master b/r to bidet. Our beloved
cat, Arthur, a beautiful Maine Coon we got from my wife's parents was on the
verge of learning to use the toilet in our b/r, the same room her favorite
litterbox is in. Now that we have the bidet, we have been trying to convert
her over to using it, but we've been havin some trouble getting her to
accept the new arrangement.
It's making our house a lil bit tense, and Arthur is not as loving as he
once was. Naturally we don't want to force him to do anything he doesn't
want to do, but he was so close to being able to use the toilet./ It
doesn't seem like such a big step; my wife and I have both adapted quite
easily. It's now to the point that Arthur really can not be found (I
suspect he is down in the basemnet with the washer/dryer and boiler) to
continue his daily sessions.
Has anyone ever tried to do this with a cat? Is it really as difficult as
all that?

But I'd give Arthur a rest for a while. Place some treats in the bathroom and
let him make his own way there without fear of being accosted for further
training sessions. Once he feels secure in the area again, could gradually
try introducing the training.
