I live in a basement suite alone with a timid 1.5 yr old female indoor cat.
She currently has a view out of 3 sides of the house. When a neighbor's cat
visits a window she will paw furiously at it until it leaves (as opposed to
wailing like my last cat did).
The landlord is selling the house so I will need to move to another
apartment within 3 months.
I am considering finding another basment suite, or a downtown apartment
complex which has both hi-rise or lo-rise apartments (and allows cats).
I terms of the cat would she prefer a 1st or second story view of the
outdoors, or would a hi-rise view be just as good for her?
Would a downtown apartment with more traffic and hallway noise be more
stressful? Would she enjoy seeing cars/people move by as opposed to a more
static back alley view?
Thanks,
Keith

Height makes cats feel safe, they can observe without feeling threatened.
Would your landlord allow you to put in cataire screens? Your cat will derive
a lot of stimulation from being able to feel and smell the outdoors.
