Hi!

I was just wondering if any of you out there have ever had problems
using a shedding blade (the round kind) on a cat...

I've had the blade for quite a few months now, and it really does get
the hair out.  Lately my little one has been really bugging me to
scratch/brush her as well as shedding a lot.  I noticed a couple of
days ago that the fur along her spine is patch/broken, while the skin
underneath is healthy looking.  Then yesterday I noticed another patch
on her neck.

I took her to the vet today and he has no idea what it is.  We're
doing blood tests etc.

I'm just wondering if anyone out there has an idea if the shedding
blade can actually cut or rip the hair when overused?

Any info would be totally appreciated!

Thanks

We have one of those but most of the cats don't care for it as much as a
Zoom Groom. I use is once in awhile, but haven't "overused" it.

I wonder if your cat's been wanted to be brushed more often because she
is itchier? Maybe it's not the blade.

I hope the vet can find out if there's anything going on.

Good luck,

Rhonda

Rhonda-

I went out and bought a zoom groom today.  Not to sound like an ad or
anything, but she loves it!!  Interesting because the texture is
similar to my love glove, which she hates.  But I just wanted to thank
you so much for the tip!

Scout

also, we got the blood test results back.  everything is normal.  so i
think that maybe i overused that shedding blade a little.  oops.  at
least no one got hurt!

Ha! Glad she likes the zoom groom. Most of our cats really love it. It
does really get out a lot of the undercoat too.
