Omega 3 Oil and Kidney problems

Greetings from Norfolk
One of our two cats has been (provisionally) diagnosed with a kidney
prooblem.  This has meant that he has to go onto a special diet (no salt,
high quality protein etc).  We have also been told that 500 mg of Omega 3
oil a day will significantly help him.
Has anybody got experiance of this, and any tips for feeding one cat a diet,
and ensuring that he eats his died, and not the other cat.
This problem is partially made as the two of them tend to 'browse' their
food, rather than eating a 'good meal' at one sitting.
The two cats are burmans, and therefore do not run free, but have the run of
the house, and visit the garden 'under supervision', as one might say.
Any help or tips appreciated.

Hi Richard

FWIW....would it perhaps be wise to put both cats on the same diet?  That
would be the most practical solution as far as I can see, and maybe it will
prevent your other cat from developing the same ailment?

Greetings from Norfolk
Thanks
We took him to the vet today, and he is now on the diet permanently.  We are
going to give both of them the diet, vet says OK, the second cat is old
enough to have this diet but will give her some treats now and again - they
are both about 12 years old.

We have used fish oil, is that what you're giving? It is very fishy and
the cats like it.

You feed her a small amount of something she'll eat immediately, like a
tablespoon of wet food, and mix in the oil. It's best to supervise her
while she eats the whole thing in front of you.

Good luck,

Rhonda
