It could be repressed memories. My cat that just pasted away came
from an abusive house hold. Every time I took a shower or went in the
tub she would have panic attacks. I found out later the sick bastard
that had her before me killed her litter mates by drowned them in the
bath tub.
It took a couple years and lots of comforting to help her get over
this trama. In fact I even started playing with her and her toys in
the bath tub to help her realise it isn't a bad place.

Hmm..interesting... our Buffy gives a little whimper/squeak whenever I
sneeze (which is at least few times daily and pretty loud, since I"m very
allergic to the three of them). I've always assumed it's her way of saying
bless you, like my husband does, when I've sneezed. Sometimes she even walks
up to me when she "vocalizes" like she's making sure I know she's saying
something to me.
Anyone else?
