My cat has developed a rash under the fur.  Little bumps like sores. Went to
vet twice, got antibiotics twice which cleared it up but only for a few
weeks, then it came back.  Vet says maybe an allergy.  Now I'm giving cat
Benadryl but no results yet.  Internet search says try fish oil supplement.
Anybody out there with experience in this?

Is it just in one spot or all over?

I tried fish oil (liquid) on mine.  Each got one dose.  Each became very
scarce for a couple of days.  Capsules might work.

Elmo has occasional granulomas - really nasty looking outbreaks - red and
puffy. Look like a burn.  Pop up in just one area (back of hind leg, under
chin, pad of front paw, etc).  Vet says it is an allergic reaction -
possibly to food.  She suggested trying him on a "novel protein" special
catfood.  I have four cats and that would mean switching them all ... and
probably having at least one go on a hunger strike.  So we've been treating
the outbreaks as they occur - every 6-9 months - with a short course of
oral prednisone and otc hydrocortisone cream.  Seems to work.

this may sound silly, but do you feed your cat out of plastic
dishes?  try glass (ceramic) or stainless.  my vet says many cats
are allergic to plastic.
