Pumpkin, the cat who adopted me last Halloween, is a beautiful orange
striped 13 pound hunter.
Few birds, some mice, lots of lizards and grasshoppers (good boy!) and
- spiders. My house in Los Angeles has spiders. So does the yard.
The black widows don't come inside but they are in firewood piles and
garden shed. Little spiders and daddy long-legs come inside. Without
constant spraying, I'll never get rid of them - and besides, they don't
really bother ME. But can Pumpkin digest them?
The only time he has been sick the cause was dry seed husks that get
caught in his lovely long fur. This was before I learned how to comb
and brush him without his throwing a fit. (He tries to kill the comb
and brush - and got me a few times, too. Stroking under his chin until
the purrs get loud works nicely. He's so happy being stroked he's
willing to ignore the comb.)
He can't be kept indoors although he spends most of the day sleeping
inside.
In general I think whatever a cat normally catches he can digest. But
spiders? Anyone know?

Spiders shouldn't be a problem.

My cat eats anything that moves, spiders included :)
