Hi,
I have a 1½ year old tabby cat. She was a stray, but now she's had all her
vaccinations and a checkup. She seems to have a strange method of grooming
herself, and I am not sure if it's normal or not. When she's dozing off
sometimes she wake up suddenly and frantically trys to groom herself.
Sometimes she'll even pull out clumps of fur. Suprisingly though she doesn't
have a bald spot on her. Is this a problem or is it just normal?

does she act like she has an itch?  she may need to be de-fleaed.

Thanks for the advice. She had an appointment about 1 month ago, but could
she possibly get fleas so fast? I'll see when I could get an appointment for
her. If it is fleas though would there be another effective way to solve it
besides going to the vet, or is the vet the best way to go?Thank You!

Sounds like she has fleas. Have her defleaed, and take her to the vet.
