allergy or what?

this is my 1st post here..familiar with ng's however. But i'm unable to come
up with a treatment for my kitty..she has bumpy skin much of the time..the
vet says its an allergy, who knows. we tried switching foods,
everything..even no catbox litter..nothing helps..anybody got ideas? she's
goin on 8 yrs old..no prob's til the last 3 years..otherwise she's a sweetie

Have you checked for a flea allergy. My cat has a flea allergy and comes out
in little bumps which then go scabbey and then little clumps of hair fall
out. we treat him with flea drops every month and this does seem to help.

Another idea could be a hormone problem etc. It may be a good idea to see
your vet again or try a different vet.
