2 months ago a stray wandered into my garden and settled on my patio. He
keeps returning periodically. This does not suit my 2 cats.. I have found
the owner who has collected him, however he keeps coming back to my house.I
keep ringing the owner who collects him.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can deter him please

Yep, but no one answered him. We all asked for more info which he gave
-- but then no one replied after that.

Mower,

It's possible that the area where you live has laws about letting animals
wander on the property of others. Give the animal control authority a call
and file a complaint if complaining to the owner doesn't help.

I really don't know how you would deter him if the owner isn't keeping
him at  home. Can you talk to the owner about keeping his/her cat inside?

I have tried, however the owner has an area(run) where he exits the house.
The door has a 3" gap under the entrance which enables him to leave

And some of the "super soakers" can be fun just in and of themselves....
