Hi everyone.  First I have to say that I am so glad that I found this site.
Everyone has been so helpful and comforting!  My cat had his first blockage a
few nights ago and he is home now and seems to be doing really good besides
that fact that he hates the new food he is on and the medication is not going
over well with him.  All in all, I am an absolute mess.  I am beyond
petrified that this will happen again and I am told that is a very big
possibility.  I would love to hear from other people that have been through
this.  Will my panic subside as time goes on?  Is there a chance that he will
never block again?  I am just so scared that if there is a next time, I will
not catch it in time.  I can't concentrate when I am work because I am
thinking of him at home alone.    He is such a good little boy and I hate the
thought of him going through this again.  I would love to hear from you guys
and maybe get some comforting words.  Thanks everyone!

Two of my six cats blocked. I worried for a couple of weeks, kept a closer
eye on them for a couple of months, and rarely think about it now.

You do not need the c/d the vet gave you.  It is a low quality food, and
says right on the bag for temporary use.  Check out http://www.catinfo.org
for info (from a vet) regarding feeding a cat right.  I feed as she
recommends, and have not had another issue.

Thank you so much Connie.  That webpage was extremely informative and I am
going to follow her instructions as well.
