Use common sense people !! If cat sick take it to the vet.
If your human child were sick would you go ask a stranger on the street what
to do or post your question in a newsgroup about kids ?!?!?!?
If you can not afford health care for it then maybe it is time to think about
surrendering it to someone who can and will !!

I try to see if there's something I can do to solve health problems with
my kids so they didn't develop a habit of running to a doctor and
wasting time and money when it's something time and common sense cure.
Sometimes it's turned out to be more than I thought, but not usually
- when it has, it's usually been when I'm sick or injured. A couple of
days and try new food - filtered water and see if it's that. Just use a
bit of common sense and see if that works, then take the cat to the vet
- or the kid to the doctor....

I would take my cats to the vet if I would want to go to a doctor for the
same type of problems. Moreover, I will take my cats to a vet for *lesser*
problems because they cannot describe the problem to me, and I might miss
something important. This is especially true if the cat seems to be in
pain -- cats are well-known to try to disguise pain, so your cat may be in a
*lot* of pain if it is obvious to you. I would always rather err on the
side of caution and take my furbabies to a vet than to "wait it out" and
possibly risk their health.
