Dear advisers,
my 9 years old cat has more liquid feces twice or three times a day. This
happens two days ago , also with vomiting. vomiting ceased on the same day,
but more frequent and defecation persists.. Until now he was eating usual
food. Do you think that he should starve ?
Many thanks for suggestions
sincerely yours Alenka

No, starving your animal is never the answer.  Take your cat to the Vet asap
to find out what is causing the loose stool.

cats can dehydrate really quickly, make sure he is taking in lots of liquids
(water preferably).

see the vet, they can advise.

thanks, for responds-
he drinks more than usually. The problem is that he is an in-door cat the
whole life through, gets panic attack when he have to go out to vet. So, I'd
like to cure him at home, his general condition is good, he is hungry...

with out knowing the cause, you can not possibly cure him at home.  it could
be a bowel obstruction, it could be IBD, it could be cancer, it could be as
simple as worms, or that he got into some food of yours and just has an
upset digestive system.  If you try to fix the symptom (the loose stools)
with out finding the cause, you could do more harm than good.

Do what is best for the cat.  If your child had panic attacks going to the
doctor, but was very sick, you would bring the child regardless.

Thank you, Connie.
Our cat Ivan has been rehydrated yesterday by infusion. The reason for the
diarrhea probably was raw meat he had eaten a day before. He fortunately
drinks a lot , eats some diet cookies and tried a piece of boiled chicken...
Today he hasn't diarrhea any more.
Best regards
Alenka

Please take the cat to the vet.   There is a reason why the vet goes
to vet school for all those years.   Unless you, the pet owner, also
went to school for all those years then you can't diagnos the problem.

Some things you can diagnos at home.  This ain't one of them.

If your mom/dad/sister/brother had a heart attack would you diagnos
the problem yourself at home or would you call 911 and get them to the
hospital fast?
