In that case, it would probably be a good idea to have her checked. It's
probably just related to a day of unusual excitement, but I think it's
always a good idea to have a new furbaby vet-checked right away, anyway.
MaryL
I thought at first that maybe she was sick, but she doesn't have any
runny noses or eyes, she is using the kitty litter box normally, and
she seems perfectly normal when I go into the bedroom to check on her.
She does have a rather strange quirk for a cat that is a couple months
old though - when she cuddls on my lap she has a tendency to start
kneading the front of my shirt and trying to suck on it as if she was a
newborn.
I am going to try to give her another day (And put out some special
food for her, since she is kind of skinny) and if she doesn't perk up
by tomorrow I am gonna take her to the vets. For that matter, that
would have to be the plan anyway, since no vet is open on sunday near
me...

That's not unusual at all. Both my adult cats do this (we call it
"mushing"), as have all my previous furburgers. It means you are
loved. ;-)

It means the kitty is imprinting onto you as if you were her real
mother.
You will probably have a very affectionate and bonded cat when she
is grown.
Don't worry too much about the sleeping. Kittens sleep even more
than adult cats and adult cats can sleep 16 hours a day if they
are content. Also, if this little one is skinny, then she may be
making up for lost time and lost sleep....saving the calories to
pack them on to her little body.
Vet visit is in order, anyway, though.

our cat charlie came to us as a stray. he was a tiny kitten. I would guess
at possibly 6 weeks old, maybe a week more or a week less.
throughout his adult life he was quite skittish however at night time he
would jump up on the bed and suck his tail, pad the bed (or us) and purr at
the same time. we often wondered if he left his mum too soon. we found it
an endearing quality and would laugh as he would suck- pad- purr all at the
same time.
