I've recently moved and now have a large fenced patio and am looking forward
to planting things and also allowing my indoor cat out to enjoy the sun and
air every so often, which he is always dying to do but I have been reluctant
to allow b/c he's an indoor cat. I was wondering if there were any plants
that I should and more importantly should NOT plant. I want to make my patio
beautiful but also safe for my little kitty Boxer. Yes I have checked
websites but none have given me any clear indications of what I should do.

www.hsus.org or www.aspca.com both have list of what is dangerous

Here are links to several sites that list plants that are poisonous to cats:

I would highly recommend planting oleander. While poisonous to humans, it is quite a treat for the
kitties to nibble on. Try crushing some leaves and mixing it in with the cat's food.
Good luck!

Matthew, oleaner is *extremely* toxic, and several sources specifically list
it as potentially poisonous to cats. I would not take any chances with it!

Ah, my apologies, Matthew. I responded thinking it was you -- and I should
have immediately picked up on it as a troll (but in this case, a troll with
very *dangerous* advice).

Don't worry about it. That is why I sent you the email.
