Nutro will not make your cat stop shedding, but it might reduce the amount.
It should also reduce the 'output' of your cat as well, since it is a bit
more nutrient dense, you cat won't need to eat as much to get what it needs,
which will help with obesity, and other health issues.
However, the studies are starting to show that any dry cat food is basically
junk food for cats. Equate it to McDonalds foods for humans. It is ok, but
not good food. It has too many carbohydrates, which cats do not need, and
leads to obesity, and diabetes, along with a whole host of other medical
issues. Dry food also limits intake of water, and since cats don't have a
high thirst drive (since they were designed to get their water from their
pray) it also can lead to urinary issues like a build up of crystals leading
to blockage (and death) and infections.
Yes, lots of cats eat dry food and do just fine on it all their life, but it
isn't the best food out there.

Okay, I will just buy him Meow-Mix then. I saw it for $5 20lb bag at the
grocery store, what a bargin! In all seriousness, what kind of wet food
is good? How expensive will it be a day? I had a sample I got once in a
bag of dry food and my cat left a mess of it all over the kitchen floor.
