It might sound nuts, but my hubby & I are really starting to worry about a
terrorist attack here in USA. We've got lots of water and canned stuff from
from the big Y2K that's still good, but we are the only house w/a basement &
if anything gets near here, we will be having me, my hubby, my parents in
their 70's, my bro and sis-in-law & their two daugthers (13 & 10) down here
with us.
What I am trying to figure out is how to keep all our and thier pets inside
w/us and safe. My Parents have NO pets, in-laws have 2 dogs and 1 cat (that
I gave them) and we at this house have 7 inside cats & a dog, plus one
outside cat who we couldnt' leave outside to die a horrible way. I have
never bought a kennel of any kind. My cats all have a carrier each, but we
can't leave them in those for a week or two.
What are the bottom line costs on kennels that will hold 3-4 cats that get
along and the a single but nice sized kennel for the 2 outside cats that we
can't put with the others. We are so blessed to have a basement with
concrete room, but know if something is to come, we must have THAT kind of
stuff ahead. Just where to go & how much for these kennel/crates (I'm in
so.Indiana right by Louisville, KY) Thanks for any help.
JUST FOR ANYONE ELSE THAT MIGHT BE WORRIED LIKE US, we have made our first
priority as talking to our doctors to get a 2-3 month refills ahead of time
on b/p medicine, my mom'e many heart medicines, etc. Don't forget those if
this start to heat up over here. God Bless everyone!! and I hope it never
comes to this.
and EEKKKKKK, next week we are going to start on all their up to date shots
in CASE they would have to be kenneded somewhere (my VERY bottom of the
barrel choice) The dog is always utd, but since 7 cats inside only, we
stopped after their required kitten shots. Might have to be credit card time
on those shots if we want to do it in a hurry. But they are really MY kids,
so anything to make them safe and healthy. Thanks for listening, and any
advice, and God Bless you all!!!

Want an a good idea of what would happen after a terrorist attack with
nuclear weapons? Go rent the movie "The Day After."
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085404/
Between the nuclear winter, the devastation of the infrastructure,
and the areas hit would uninhabitable for 200+ years ther is plenty
to be nervous about.
And what is even more scary is the president of Iran is predicting the
planet will be destroyed by a nuclear war in the near future.
But then our president (US) also just as scarry.

Build a fall out shelter (bomb shelter?)
I would add I'm older than dirt. I lived through the 50s 60s and 70s
when the Russian threat existed. What we have no is even worse.
The Russians would have not used the nuclear option, because
ultimately they wanted to live and understood the concept of
mutually assured destruction.
That muutally assured destruction has no effect on a terrorist who
is bent on killing themselves.
