We have had a little black female for several years. We are now
moving into a new house and the previous owners left their male cat.
Both cats are loving and very good cats when they are apart, but
together they hiss and fight. Thankfully the new cat is used to being
outdoors so we put him on the back porch at night and let him out in
the day time. But we would like for both of the cats to have the run
of the house.
Any help very much appreciate. Thanks.

Lee ok first is the other cat neutered if not it will help the
situation
Second it takes time for cats to adjust to one another and it takes time
to introduce them and you have to slowly introduce them to one another
Third the stress of moving need to come into understandment it is going to
take a while for both cats to adjust along with your selves
Also you need to understand that neither may take to one another (THIS
TAKES TIME TO DETERMINE)
Now take a breath and get ready to have another furball in the house

??
Do I lead a sheltered life? I didn't know cats "conveyed" with a house.
Isn't that abandonment?
anyway...this stuff seems to work...I've used it to acclimate orphans and
rescue folks I know do the same...

Keep in mind that to the "new" cat your cat is the "new" cat and you
are moving into it's space. To it that is his home and space and now
it is being put out so a strang cat can have his space. Try to see
things from his perspective.
Just take your time getting them used to each other and do not rush
it.
Is there someplace in the home where you could leave the former owners
cat at night with a litter box and food for now? Maybe if he was not
getting booted out of his home at night he would not be so "hissy".
