I have two cats, Fluffy and Kai 4 and 1.5. Fluffy has been "missing" the
litter box off and on since I got him almost two years ago. I rescued him
from the local shelter, he has been returned 2x before for not getting along
with his owners. He has been on Buspar, been confined to one room, and been
religiously cleaning the litter boxes (there are 2) for over a year and it
has only gotten worse. Im at the end of my rope. I have taken him to the vet
to rule out any medical problems but sice it has been going on for over 2
years it couldnt be that. I LOVE my cat and dont want him to be unhappy, but
I can not live like this anymore. He is declawed because he was clawing up
the moldings in my other appartment. I just graduated college and got my
first job, I am scared to leave him home and what he will do.
I cant tell you how much I love this cat. I would bend over backwards for him
to be happy. I have talked about returning him to the shelter, I feel like
such a heal for even thinking about it. However, they said they would put him
down if I did. Im scared that he will die.

Please help.

maybe since he is declawed, his nails have grown back and become somewhat
ingrown. that can happen sometimes if the procedure is done incorrectly.
maybe you should ask your vet about that. good luck!!!!!
