My cat had kittens about a week ago and now two have died.  I don't
understand, any advice?

Hard to diagnose what the problem with them could have been.  Could have
been respiratory, could have been undernourished in the mother.  First thing
I would do right now is keep an eye on the other kittens and that they are
nursing...  next time one is nursing, pull it away from the mother briefly
and check if there is actually milk coming from the mother.  If so, they
should be getting enough nutrition right now.  If no sign of much milk from
the mother, you may have to get some kitten milk and a dropper and help them
get more food.  After the mother is done nursing, please get her fixed.

I read a post somewhere recently from someone who had lost 3 litters
of kittens.  They then switched to one of the non-clay based cat
litters and had no problems after that.  I think the clay stuff can
clog a cat's digestive system.  I'ts east enough to switch litter as
an experiment.  I've been using Swheat for about a week and really
like it.

You've been using that for the cats, right?

Ummm...that would be a yes.  I poop and pee in the toilet.
and, BTW, Swheat can be flushed down the toilet in moderate amounts:
don't try to flush a whole litter box down at once.

That's comforting to know. :-)

That's good to know.  Many years ago when I had my first cat I used to
scoop the traditional litter and flush what I scooped.  No problem.  One
day I was in a hurry when changing out the litterbox and dumped the whole
thing in the toilet.  Hours and $$$ later the plumber had it cleared out!
