Micky and Minka our new cat are getting on OK. Very little hissing. All
sleeping in my bed one ft apart. But I'd like to see them play together and
beyond that cuddling into one big tuxedo furball. They are both playful. I
can play with them both at the same time. But they react to me only not to
each other. Today Minka was beating her tail. Micky could not resist and
jumped: Minka didn't think this was funny at all :-(

Don't do anything to force them to play...
if you leave them alone...I'm sure they'll sooner or later become friends

Leave them be and if it's meet to be they will start playing together.

You can't force the issue.  Leave them alone, and they will decide for
themselves if they want to play.  You could create a very stressful
situation if you try to force it -- and it sounds like they have made a good
start if they are sleeping that close to each other.

Your definition of "playing" probably differs from the cats'.  Be
thankful, some cats' games can be pretty rough on the nerves, not to
mention the playing field.
