no.. its not. It is "highly recommended" because A) they give it away to
vets (very low cost) so the vets make lots of money on it, and B) SD is the
one teaching the vets about nutrition..
Its marketing, pure and simple.. do not fall for it.

How about some double-blind studies on cat food?
My cat is doing just fine with a diet consisting entirely of Science Diet.
Cost is not an issue - if you can show me convincing evidence that it is
bad for her, I will change her diet, but frankly the links you provided
are nothing more than marketing.
