Hi
I have 2 male Himalayan adult cats that have been together since the
youngest birth about 2 years. The youngest is active and fun loving and the
older a little shy and stays away from people but plays well with the
younger cat (thought maybe abused at some time) the older is slowly starting
to come around (very slowly) we have had them about a 1 1/2 years. The older
cat has started to pee outside of the litter box, not everytime sometimes
once a week sometimes every few days, there is no pattern. Does any one have
any ideas?
I have tried more litter boxes, different litter, chastising him when he
pee's on the floor and praising him when he pee's in the litter box. The vet
says it is not a health problem..
Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks

looks like there are a couple more things to try.. first would be location.
Cats are quite vulnerable when they are using the litter, so putting it
somewhere else might make him feel more secure.. Are the boxes covered? are
they squeaky clean? Cats (in general) prefer uncovered very clean litter.
Another suggestion is a product called 'cat attract'. It is designed just
for such problems
