I havn't posted regularly for awhile - those who may remember me know
I have 3 rescue cats - and they have off and on problems with herpes
virus.
I am happy to say that since I have had them on l-lysine 500mg daily
as a constant supplement that we have not had to visit the vet for an
outbreak of symptoms for the past year after 1 year of several
outbreaks and a very sick cat5.
Ms. Thang had her shots today and all went well. She didn't like the
shots but when she got home she pranced all over the place and acted
like she was sure happy to be back home - she is no sleeping in the
window bed enjoying the sun.
My question is were going to paint our master bedroom - I don't want
any mishaps with the kittys - How long is it fair to put them in a
small bedroom? What about the fumes? Will this cause the herpes to
react?

Fair? its probably not fair in their eyes, but it would be in their best
interest obviously, and since your the human, sometimes you just have to
suck it up and do something your cats don't like to keep them safe (but you
knew that) I would imagine you'd only need to keep them in there until the
paint is dry which should be a day or so. Provide them with a litter box,
and some good toys, and go in and have play time with them when your done
painting.
As for a reaction.. I do not know.. you should consult your vet on that one.

Just a quick not that current vet. vac. protocol states that every three
years is the time frame for vacs.....NOT every year. I certainly would not
vaccinate an immune system compromised herpesvirus cat. Especially an
indoors-only one. carol

Have you done any research regarding odourless paints? They are available.
