I got a new kitten.  He is so sweet and cute, but he came from a home
with about 10 other kittens.  I think he is having separation anxiety.
He cries all the time unless he is being held.  Short of getting
another kitten, what can I do?  I can't hold him all the time.

Thanks
Jennifer

You can get a stuffed animal or clothes item that has your smell on it  It
will help the transition
Plus just like a baby if it cries and you pick it up everytime it learns
that trend

I was afraid of that....but it is almost heartbreaking to hear him cry
all the time.

Thanks for your advice

You are welcome

That feeling just means you are a good mommy and you care.  I am in tears
taking anyone of my cats to the vet specially my rumble who is epileptic and
goes every couple months.  every time one of them does that distress call.
The tears start to flow and I am an old man that has been around cats since
I was born.

Well, I ended up getting a kitten to go with it.  The original kitten
is happier, and the newer kitten never knew anything was wrong.

Thanks for everyone's advice
Once I find a place to put some pictures of them up I will

Please do.

Two of the last kittens we adopted were brothers, but were adopted one at a
time because one of them was ill and the foster parent wouldn't release him
until he was well.  Even though we have other cats, the first new kitten
was obviously distraught over being separated from his sibling.  It was a
wonderful day when we could reunite them after the illness was past.

They also make a stuffed animal that has a heartbeat  they mainly make it
for human babies but it works both ways
