My cat doesn't usually get along with any other cats. Well, when he was a
kitten up until he was 4 years old, he used to get along with the neighbors
cat. They would roll around together, and play and spend most days with each
other. Well, the neighbors cat moved when he was around 4.5 years old, and
since then he only fights with other cats, until recently. A new cat is in
the neighborhood, and my cat seems to have taken to him... He is much
younger then my cat (my cat is now 13)... this new cat is only 3 or 4 years
old. It's the first time in basically 10 years that my cat is being friendly
and playing with another cat again. They are always out around together,
rolling around in the grass, chasing birds together, and spending all day
with each other. Does anyone know why they are getting along? Both cats are
male. Both cats are neutered.

Justin the could have been a 100 factors why in the last 9 years that your
cat has been aggressive towards others cat. No way to know unless you have
a few months to talk and a very good memory.
Cats are a loner and a social animal all in one. Finky and curious, Loving
and spiteful, playful and cunning too many traits to list.
Just like humans he decide he wanted company now in 6 minutes or 6 months
he might decide that it is time for the other cat to go.
Cats are Cats just like woman don't try to figure them out just go with
the flow and be ready for waterfalls
