Where do you buy your Drinkwell filters? I checked online w/
PetsMart & Petco and they both now sell their 3-packs for $7.99 plus S&H.
One of them (can't remember which) used to sell the 3-pack for $3.99 plus
S&H.
So I was wondering if someone could share a good site for purchasing
those?

I have an older style drinkwell; so I'm not sure if the filters I use are
the same, but they are just aquarium filters. I bought some a few years ago
from the online store Noah's Pets (noahspets.com), best price at the time.
These are black on one side and whitish on the other; nearly rectangular,
maybe about 4"x6"? Ah, they still have them, 3.99 for three. Item number
10443 (can't feasibly post url).

Ok, so my curiousity got the best of me and I found an actual filter/package
here at home. They are the Hagen Dynaflo 1 filters. 4x6 is too big, more
like 2-3 by 4". Looks like the style hasn't changed. 3.99 is probably the
best price; I thought maybe if you are looking for them at aquarium shops
you might have more success since that's their original purpose.
Cheers,
Rebecca

I ordered a bunch of them when there was a free shipping special on
Petco.com but I can't remember how much they were.
Question for you Drinkwell owners:
Does your water get foamy when the filter is in? When I don't have a
filter in the Drinkwell, the water is clear. With a filter (and I've
changed it just to be sure it wasn't defective or something) the water
gets a foam coating at the top. I add water (spring water) regularly and
take the thing apart weekly for cleaning, and do a rince-type cleaning
every couple of days.

I haven't had this problem with mine.. Do you rinse the filters before you
put them in? Do you use soap when you clean it?
Hmm.. wierd.

Yes.

Yes, but I wash and rinse it just as well as when I have tried not using
the filters. I thought maybe it was my water here - I don't drink it
myself, so in the water sources that aren't the Drinkwell, I use spring
water. I thought with the filter I could use tap. Now with all of this,
we all drink spring water. But weird, spring water also makes the bubbly
film in the drinkwell dish when a filter is in. Spring water, or even tap
water without a filter is fine and clear. I thought it must be the
filters but if this doesn't happen with you guys, I'm not sure what is
going on.
