Fatty our adopted ginger/blonde Tom, who subsequently was spayed and given
his shots is about 9 yo. He must have been someone's cat as he knows all the
tricks to get his way including hovering around your dinner plate for bits
of meat,..he doesn't mind if they are cooked, chicken (skinless) is his
favourite.

Mind you we give him and Misty raw meat from time to time and it was during
the last time I had some cut-up strips off the side of a piece of rumpsteak
that I played a 'trick' on him. He was fast a sleep on the lounge and very
quietly I held a piece of the raw steak about 1/2 inch from his nose. Took
all of 2 seconds for his olfactory nerves to transmit to his brain and
activate the 'wake-up' it's food time thing. In the instant he woke, he
swiped at the meat with 'claws activated',..my joke nearly got turned on me!
With a confirmation meow he jumped up and trotted to the kitchen where his
bowl is, while I followed with his meat,...they never cease to amaze..

Im glad you and Fatty are getting along so well.

I foster kittens, and quite often will have a meal in their room.  It only
takes moments for them to figure out how to try to sneak some food. :)

Also - small side note.. spays happen to girl kitties.  boys are castrated.
All are neutered.

He comes with a story which has its sad part. At first about 3 years ago, he
and another small female black short-hair used to turn-up for food. I was
amazed (once again) at their symbiotic relationship. Shadow (thus named
small black female) used to wait until Fatty had his fill, as he was a bit
of a hog. Then we'd top up the bowl and feed her. They even used to lie
together, altho Fatty was really just tolerating her, until I saw him
licking her coat. Then one day they both stopped coming. A year later, Fatty
started coming again, but on his own.  We decided to take him in as his
condition was not good what with fighting wounds, a limp, plus he'd lost
some weight. We often wonder what happened to Shadow.

What a good service you do there, Connie.

Yes,..we have biscuits out all the time,..but they still prefer meat, cooked
or raw.
