Hi
I read somewhere that it's a bad idea to change the brand of cat litter
once the cat is used to it. In other words, don't buy what's on sale
only stick with the same brand.
Any truth to this? Any experience?

Thanks

Some cats may be picky, but mine doesn't care. I've changed it several times
between a few kinds I like.  She always uses the box and doesn't seem to
care.  Others may be more picky, but mine seems to have no concern or any
noticeable effects.

My cat refused to use the kitty box when I switched litters on her. I
think it depends on the cat but I would be safe if I were you... the
extra cash isn't worth the mess!

Depends what you change it to.  If the texture of the new one is similar to
the last, your cat may not mind.  The only thing I would be wary about is if
the texture is extremely different.  I tried newspaper pellet litter after
using regular litter and my cats hated it.  It is a lot bigger than regular
litter and the texture is much harder.  I've tried silica balls too and they
looked at it warily as it was white and looked different, but then proceeded
to use it, probably because it didn't hurt their feet.  So I think it is more
how a litter feels on their feet that concerns them rather than what it looks
like.
