Our overweight cat Buddy got a diagnosis of upper resp.infection 2 weeks ago
and we got eye drops w/steroids (she tested his eyes for ulcers first) and
liquid Zeniquin. 1 ml once a day from a dropper. He's almost done w/it, his
eyes are bright again, he doesn't wheeze like he was and he is more playful.
But he is losing a patch of fur on his backside that is getting larger. I
thought at first he & one of our other cats had afight while we werer gone,
but no fur on the floor & it's getting wider. Ever heard of this medicine
causing hair loss?

BTW, on the other female cat Gyspy with the urine crsytals. You were telling
me the W/D food was not right for that (and I had agreed with you) I finaly
got the actual vet on the phone and she agreed C/D is common to use, but her
own cat has these crystals and the W/D does much the same as the C/D and it
seems to taste better so they will eat it. I must admit in the two weeks
we've been giving ALL our cats that food, they are livlier and the two
really fat ones has energy they haven' t had in years. I guess that otc food
was weighin em down. Neat lesson to learn!

Doesn't sound like something that would happen from an eye medicine.  Perhaps
an allergy to something sounds more like it.  Only thing is it's hard to
determine from what sometimes.  My cat lost her fur on her belly , a bit on
the side, back legs and front paw and the vet thought she was just licking it
too much.  She didn't have fleas or ringworm.  The vet determined that she
was licking it off and it's almost a year later and most of it has grown back
now.  If your cat has ringworm, all of them would have it but you should have
it checked out anyway especially if it is on an area that he couldn't have
licked the fur off of such as his back.    Could also be fleas and he is
allergic to the saliva.  As he was ill, his immune system may not have been
up to par and that's when they're more likely to contract something.

That's good; maybe they'll trim down once they've been on it for awhile.

Whoops, just saw that you said Zeniquin too, not just eye drops.  Sorry, I'm
not sure if this causes hair loss or not.
