I'm in serious need of advice and help.

Half a year ago my cat was fine. He was beautiful, healthy, talkative,
and loved to play and to be held.
Now he's always hungry and vomits up all the food he eats.
He constantly wants water. Not just any water, though, he wasn't fresh
water. If it's been sitting out for more than an hour he'll want
fresh.

He also doesn't like for other people to hold him- Only me.

He doesn't have worms.

We don't know what's wrong with him..
He's lost so much weight.
He used to weigh well over 10 pounds.. and now he's probably 6 pounds.
My cat is my best friend and if he died I'd probably never get over
it.

Please help me.

This fellow sounds like he has a potentially serious medical problem, so
make an appointment with the vet.

This sounds serious.  Have you consulted a vet?  If not, you need to see one
ASAP -- do not delay.  If you have seen a vet, what tests have been run and
what were the results?  You may need to see a second vet for another
opinion.

Others may have more specific suggestions based on the information you
provided, but I think a vet is the obvious (and essential) course of action.
If you do not get any answers, I would make arrangements to take my vet to a
university veterinary teaching hospital.

PLEEZE make an appointment with your vet tomorrow and get this cat in for a
blood panel and checkup. It sounds like it might be either thyroid or
kidney. You can not make him better by wishing him well. Please get him to
the vet, before it is too late.

I also think you should get your cat to the vets, it could be something
serious like diabetes, kidney problems etc.
