We just adopted a cat from the Human Society and we have had her for 2 weeks
now. She has started sneezing. She is eating and drinking fine. She likes to
stay under the beds, so I am not sure if it is just from the dust under there
or if it is a problem.
I took her to the vet on saturday for her 1 week check up and he said that
she was fine. She just needs to gain more weight, which she is doing that.
Should I be concerned?? What other problems should I look for if it is a URI??

I know locally that the HS sends new parents home with some food and then it
runs out and they buy something at the store. Did you change food and then
she start sneezing? Have you added an air freshner or something along that
line? Animals can have allergies to fragrances.
If you have not changed anything then you might check with the vet and see
if she/he thinks that the kitten might have an URI. If she had been at the
shelter very long she might have something from there.
Our cats sneeze from time to time but we don't worry about it.

well she was a stray that we found in our backyard and we took her in to the
HS and then decided to adopt her since no one claimed her. She is 2 years old.
We are still feeding her the same food that she came home with.

Did your vet know the cat was sneezing? I would make a return visit --
ASAP. It is very common for shelter cats to develop upper respiratory
problems, often just a few days after adoption. The cat needs to be treated
immediately, while it is still a limited problem. (As you said, it is even
possible that dust is the problem -- but this really needs to be checked if
the vet was not aware of sneezing. Even if the vet was aware, a phone call
is in order.)
