I'm doing a short internet survey (10 minutes) for one of my classes
and I would appreciate if you could help me by filling it out.

The survey is about media and public issues. It is only a few
questions and will take about 10 minutes to complete. Participation is
completely voluntary and you can stop at any time. As well, your
participation is anonymous and you will never be asked to provide your
name. Please note that you must be over 18 to participate in this
survey.

If you would like to participate, please go to the following link:

Thank you for your help,

Tell that to  groups-abuse@google.com  and  abuse@yahoo.com  . I do
that and occationally get a reply that they have taken steps to stop a
repeat of the problem. The jerk who posted this originally will never
be back to read our criticisms, but his/her ISP might listen to us.

This is the reply that I received when I forwarded the SPAM to the
originating ISP. Like I said, the SPAMer will never be back to read
all the nasty things we are saying about him/her for posting this
crap. He/she WILL hear what the ISP said. I realize the SPAMer will
just get another account, but it makes me feel better to know he/she
is going to have to go to more work.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The Google Groups
account
you reported for Usenet abuse will be suspended soon. We appreciate
your
assistance in keeping Google Groups as abuse-free as possible.

The Google Team

I would appreciate if you would warn that you're crossposting this
to at least five groups, and (judging by their alphabetical proximity
and topical dissimilarity) probably multiposting to a very large
number of five-group sets.

Acknowledge this, and I'll fill out your survey.  Deal?

But then if you get Forte Agent it will alert you to postings that go
to more than one group (like this one).    At that point I can choose
to post to only this group or to all the groups.  I usually chose
only the current group.

In all the years i've used Usenet i've ***never**** found a compelling
reason to crosspost.

Just imagine how great usenet would be if EVERY college student spammed us
for a class project!
