I have two cats that are fixed and I believe they were engaging in
intercourse last night but I didn't think it was possible after they are
fixed.  Is this true?

I've had cats and dogs both have intercourse after being fixed.  Doesn't
happy often, but does happen.

depends on what age they were when they were fixed and  how long ago they
were fixed.  Chances are they weren't really having sex but having
domination issues.  The one on top was most likely trying to dominate the
other one and tell it that he was in charge.  I have had female cats be the
one on top (physically impossible to have intercourse) and neutered males -
who were neutered before they figured out what sex was - do it.

I always discourage it since I want to be the "alpha cat" in the household.

I think the expression should be 'broken' rather than 'fixed'

It may have been one trying to show dominance over the other. We catch one
of our male cats (we have 7, 4 male, 3 female) straddling two of the other
males, while making motions like intercourse (it's gross and we always push
him off them). The other males just lay there when he does it. I was
thinking we had gay cats, but I read up and it's mostly a show of dominance
if they are neutered (all mine are).
