Took our cat to the vet as it had been limping for couple of days. Vet said
he had probably strined the joint through jumping down from somewhere.
Painkillersd prescribed which we haven't been able to give the cat as he
says he doesn't want them! Meanwhile, he continues to limp and today its
worse than it was a few days ago. Have heard that plastering the leg like if
it was broken would stop the cat from trying to use the leg as much and
ensure he tries to rest it a bit more...would this work? HAs anyone any
ideas? Any vets out there got any ideas pleaser...no come back ...just want
o try and get his leg better.
Thanks!

Our kitten had it when he fell, jumping off the wardrobe, it lasted for a
week.

Friends of ours had a cat with a dispocated hip and the vet suggested they
try confining her to a small space before they resorted to surgery.  It
worked very well.  Perhaps you should try confining him to a small space with
nothing to jump on for a few days.

You just have to give it time. We had a Oriental kitten that did the same.
It took 3 weeks before he was ok again. The pain and limping is natures way
to make the cat put less weight on it.
But why cant you make the cat take the painkillers?
