One of my cats has been vomiting today... it smells like poop.  He hasn't
eaten or drank anything all day and he is walking very gingerly.  Is this a
sign of something serious?  Any info would be appreciated.
 Thanks,
 CCL

Get thyself and thy cat to the vet.

Remove any food or water also so that he isnt tempted to eat or drink
and see if he stomach settles. (no longer than 24 hour period though)

If he continues to vomit even with no food/water around then definately
get him to a vet.
He could have swallowed something that he is trying to get up. Like a
toy or piece of a toy ..something....

We routinely remove food when an animal is vomiting. I would suggest
NOT removing the water though, it is more important for the short
term. Also, if the animal is very young, say under 6 months, remove
the food for only 12 hours, not 24. A very young animal can't go that
long. The limit of 24 hours is also important.
