Cute cat behavior

I picked up a nitelight not long ago and plugged it into the wall for
the first time last night. It's a little funky, since there's a small
plexiglass chamber just above the bulb full of water and glitter. As
the bulb warms, the glitter starts moving through the water and it
looks...well, sort of weird.

Most of my cats ignored this strange device, but one, Snowball, was
extremely curious about it. Here's Snowball, so you know who I'm
talking about:

While Snowball was trying to figure out what the nitelight was and what
its presence meant, she did something that cats often do when their
curious and trying to unravel a puzzle: She tilted her head to one
side. There's something so cute about this familiar cat behavior. As
the head tilts, you can just see the 'wheels' turning in their heads as
they try to understand what they're seeing. This has to be one of my
favorite cat behaviors.

I love that!  Mine does it too whenever she's playing with something new.
It's cute when she does it when  she's "grooming" me. She likes to sit on
the back of the couch and pat my head sometimes.  She tilts her head when
she does this sometimes:)  On  a sort of similar note...I have an odd cat
behavior.  My cat always sits on the back of the toilet when I'm showering
in the morning.  She's even been known to sit on the edge of the tub on the
outside of the curtain.  So, I don't really pay much attention to her when
I'm getting dressed in the bathroom and putting in my contacts.  However,
the last few days I have noticed that when I'm toweling off and getting
dressed she doesn't look at me! It's almost like she's being "polite" or
something.  She actually put her paw on her nose today and faced the wall
while sitting on the back of the toilet until I was done getting dressed.
She looked over at me a couple times until I was done! I noticed her looking
down or looking at the wall during the last week or so, when I first noticed
it.  But today she actually put her paw up and faced the wall.  How odd is
that?!?!  I think I may have noticed it before had she done this in the year
that I've had her.  Should I be happy to have a polite cat or concerned that
my extra holiday weight is showing and she can't stand to look? :)
