This, coming from a Frenchman!! -- where the majority have so much
respect for their own minorities and doing so much for them that they
aren't burning down the slums.
> The American people are barbarian.
Why, because the guy was put to death?
Look i'm not a supporter of the death penalty but lets not loose site
of the fact Tookie 1. killed four people in two robbery attemtps.
2. started a gang called the Crips who is believed to be
responsible for 100+ killings.
He has never apoligized for the kilings, never accepted responsibiltiy.
I'm not a supporter of the death penalty but I have a real problem
defending this guy against the death penalty when he started
a gang that was responsible for hundreds of killings.
"After Williams was pronounced dead, Becnel and two other supporters of
Williams turned toward the media in the witness room and yelled in
unison, "The state of California just killed an innocent man!"" Yeah,
right. Tell that to the hundreds his gang killed.
Lets call a spade a spade.....Tookie was a killer.

I'm not a supporter of the death penalty either - I'd love to see it
abolished. But the facts of the matter are:
* Williams was convicted by a jury of his peers
* He was sentenced to death by a jury of his peers
* His case was heard in the court of appeals, and the court of appeals
didn't overturn the conviction or the sentence
* His appeal for clemency was heard by the circuit court of appeal and the
state supreme court as well as the Governator.
Williams received due process as guaranteed by law. Until the death
penalty is outlawed (which I hope happens soon) those things are going to
continue to happen.
If Williams was innocent then the court of appeal would have found him
innocent. If there was recently discovered evidence that wasn't available
at the time of his original trial, the court of appeal would have stayed
his execution. Therefore the claim that California executed an innocent
man is bogus.

IMO Screw banning the death penalty, The death penalty needs to added to
more crimes the justice system is to soft. A low life murders and rapes a
little girl laughs about it and dares us to find the rest of her body but
yet those liberals want to save him from the death penalty; Sorry that has
nothing to do with the piece of sh@t gang banger but an on going case in
Florida.
Hell with this life in prison all we are doing is housing the scum of the
earth giving them a chance to cause more problems. Fry the f@ckers How
would these scum bags feel instead of having life in prison for 3 strikes
they get the chair.

Why not follow the Canadian model in the 24 year tookie had to appeal his
case, if he was in canada he would have finished his sententce and have done
it all over again

No, Tookie was the barbarian and my only regret regarding his
execution is that it took 25 years.
