My cat Bibi is a 17year old tabby.  All today she has be trying to empty
hear bowels and appears to be trying to vomit.  I am not employed at present
and vet fees are out of the question.  Does anyone have any ideas?  I am
really worried and hate to see my feisty cat being ill.
Thanks in advance

Pinch some pennies and take her to the vet asap.

Believe me, I understand your quandary. But your cat really needs to see the
vet. Extreme constipation with vomiting sounds very serious, certainly not
something for a home remedy. (One thing also, cats are so good at acting well
when they're not, the problem may have been manifesting itself for quite some
time. Please try to get her seen asap)

You described a fairly severe set of symptoms that cannot wait. Your
cats needs to see the vet now, regardless of cost. If you are drawing
benefits in the UK remember that the PDSA will give high quality care
free of charge.

Take it to the VET ASAP!  It's cruel and irresponsible not to! I don't have
much money myself. DH and I have a one income household because I got laid
off. Yet you better believe if my cat got sick I would get it to a vet ASAP.
I don't care if I have to beg, steal, or borrow the money or even if I have
to skip paying a bill that month. I'd sell my computer if that's what it
took. My responsibility as a pet owner includes medical care. If it was you
or your child you wouldn't make excuses now would you? If you care about
your cat you'll get it to a vet, not sit around posting to a NG and making
excuses why you are just letting the poor creature suffer!
