I live on a farm and have a dozen or so barn cats. I am trying to
change the radiator and anti-freeze on my car and I know how dangerous
anti-freese is for animals. I cant keep these damn cats away from the
car. I started to drain the anti-fr and had to stop and pour it back
in the radiator because the cats will not stay away. I even kicked a
few of them and was throwing tools at them but they come right back.
I cant do this in the garage because there is too much junk in there
to pull the car all the way in and close the door. I guess I will
have to do this at someone elses house because there is no way to do
it with these cats around. The last time I had to do something like
this, I tried catching all of them and locking them in a shed, but
there are always a few that I dont find, and they always end up under
the car. I have a cattle shocker, but I am afraid that would kill the
cats, and besides I need something where I cant string a wire around
the car that is electrically charged and no cat can enter. Does such
a thing exist?

Better than that go to the local pet store and get a electronic animal
repeller it emits a high frequency sound that is painful to animals makes
them run away from it about $30 - $40
Personally kicking a cat is animal abuse and if you use that cattle prod on
a animal you will kill the cat and you will be guilt of felony animal abuse.
You might have had good intentions but did you think you might have injured
one of them

Pet safe fence chargers exist), as most farmers already know (I have
one, though I have never actually used it, and I'm not even a farmer).
But my first thought is a temporary fence of unstretched chicken wire.
My second thought is that is may be a troll.

Borrow a dog, give him a muzzle so he can't drink the antifreeze, and tie
him up near the car. When the cats approach and get barked at they certianly
get a shock!

Hey, I think you found the solution. I like that idea...
When my neighbors dog wanders over here, the cats are all hissing and
hiding. Thanks for the idea. This may work....
As for the person that said I am abusing them by kicking them, would
you rather I had left them drink the antifreeze? I really dont think
a light kick with a canvas shoe is going to kill them, and I always
aim to get the shoe under them which launches them about 8 feet away,
rather than kick them in the head or something. They like to get under
my feet when I carry hay bales too, and they often get stepped on
because I cant see them when I have a bale in front of my body. Most
of them learn after a few kicks and getting stepped on, but I do have
one that just never learns...

huh ?
The technique is to place your foot under the cat and heave... of course
standing there and going "ARARARARARARARARARARRAR" usually works too.

You know I hate to say it but he was draining anti freezer that mean he had
a hose there to flush the radiator. A blast of water or being kicked eight
feet away. What would a sane person choose of the two evils

So there you go! Save yourself the trouble and do this someplace else.
Sounds like a simple and easy solution to me.

You animal abusing hick......
I'd like to kick and throw tools at you, but if I did, you would not come
back.

Since you kick cats and throw things at them, your name should be changed to
PLONK. PLONK sounds stupid, so it fits you.
