Okay for the past three nights I've been woken up at about 4 in the moeing.
The first two I just let him out and left the door open so he could back
in. Tonight I let him out, leave the door open. He comes back after a few
minutes and continues to whine. Finally, he stopped. So I close the door.
Then he starts back up agin so after trying to ignore for about 10 minutes
I get up to write this post. Now hes fine. He hasn't made a peep since I
got up.
Help me out. I don't want to have to get a new cat.

My Mr. Bailey is not allowed out by himself. If he starts grumbling about
going out, I just keep talking to him and telling him to be quiet. He
almost always stops this after a few times. Or I'll call him up on the bed
and he will usually jump up there and go to sleep. I think giving him
attention calms him down about going out.

Meet Mr. Bailey

Being on the wrong side of the door is the bain of a cats existence.
And if you are willing to give up a cat for this reason, maybe you shouldn't
have a cat at all. A cat is a cat, and that is that.

Why would you want a new cat? It seems like this one just wants some
attention. Give him lots of love, play and attention during the day/evening
and wear earplugs at night.

Oh honey, if meowing is all that is troubling you, consider yourself lucky.
When my Butterscotch wants attention at 5 am she knocks things around. Like
paper off desks, chewing paper, batting at it. I started giving her a treat
to get her to shut up :) So, I have now regulated her diet to include this
early morning snack. I usually give her a little spoon full of tuna. That
keeps her happy until I get up. It may not be the best thing, but at least
it's not making her fat and I get my sleep after only 5 minutes of being
awake.
