Are female cats better mousers?
I've had 4 females and 4 males so far, and the females definitely caught
more mice
(and birds). They eat them too whereas the males tend to throw them down at
the door and then come in to eat.
Plus all my males definitely wander(ed) more although all got neutered.

I've got 2 males and one female. The males seem to be better
mousers--also, they eat what they catch.

I have eight males and four females. One female and three males don't
hunt or wander. One female goes on week-long (and even longer)
hunting expeditions, none of the males is ever gone for more than
three days. The champion hunters that bring the catch home are a
young male (mostly moles, birds, and mice) and the somewhat older
alpha male (mostly frogs). Of the other two females, one hunts but
never seems to catch anything - the other is only occasionally
interested, but fairly successful. The other two males hunt
frequently but seldom bring anything inside where Dandy (the young
male above) can take it away from them.
