After a mass leaflet drop in the neighbourhood in the last few days we
have had a couple of phone calls from nearby residents. One last
spotted him on Wednesday, and said that he is friends with another
male tomcat that they have. Another resident said he often rests under
a table in her garden and will call straight away if she sees him.
The first name also mentioned something we had also suspected. We
believe someone in the area is feeding the cats, and that is why they
are straying away from home and not coming back sometimes for a number
of days. It would also explain why they frequently seem to be off
their food and not as hungry.
I'm pretty certain this is the case, and if I knew who it was doing
this I would like to strangle them.
I think tomorrow morning I am going to get out and have a look for him
myself. I've not done too much so far apart from a little research and
spraying of catnip. It has mainly been my sister her boyfriend looking
for him and dropping leaflets.

I think you should instead strangle the person who's letting an un-neutered
tom cat roam the neighborhood.

After seeing so many strays around it bothers me to know that there are
clueless selfish morons out there that let their cats go around un-neutered.
Any true cat lover would know how many homeless cats are suffering out there
and would never add to the misery.

Why is that? There are cats who hang around the farm and my yard, and
I put food out for them. If I don't, they tear up the trash bags and
then there is garbage all over my yard. They will not let me get near
them, either.
A mama had kittens under our freezer on the carport and one of the
kittens has stayed here. The rest of the cats are ones who tore our
trash up at night until I started feeding them each evening. So why
would you want to strangle someone for feeding homeless cats? If no
one fed them, many would starve.
