This is a strange one I know, but I just wondered to start with if a
cats body heat would show up if you were using a Night Vision camera
or binoculars?
Our cat is missing at the moment, and I think the most likely time to
spot the dirty stop out is at night.
I can probably set my security camera up to monitor areas he is likely
to pass. It isn't the best night vision camera in the world, just a
basic one, but it might be sufficient. It will start recording on
motion.
Forgive the crosspost to the UK Military Newsgroup. I just thought you
guys would be a lot more knowledgable on Night Vision stuff. I'd also
be very interested to know of the different types of night vision
devices available to consumers these days. I saw a programme on
television about a year ago were they went up in a chopped testing
three different devices out. The first was quite old technology, black
and white and the distance you could see was very poor. The second one
was better, but the third was amazing. Everything was very clear, and
just like the daytime, except with a green tinge.
I'd appreciate any links to good sites with more info, and
recommendations on good night vision devices like binoculars, security
cameras, and also attachments for devices like cameras and telescopes
etc.
Thanks for any info with this.
