My 8-year-old cat has a small cyst on his forehead, it's on the bone
above his left eye, closer to the middle of his face. It was all white,
but now has turned a little pink. It may be from playing with our new
kitten, but the vet told us to keep an eye on the cyst and I am not
sure how dangerous it is. It's only about the size of a popcorn kernel,
and maybe not even that big.
Is this normal for a cat his age? Should I be worried?

First off, glad you took him to the vet. Having a cyst, of course, is not
normal. As your vet suggests, watch it for any changes. If it doesn't
resolve itself in no more than a month, I would take him back to the vet.

It's probably not serious, unless it becomes infected. I'd call the vet
though and tell him/her about the pink color and see if she wants to do
something, maybe apply a topical (veterinary) antibotic on the cyst.

Cysts are not caused by bacteria/fungi, but by abnormal accumulation
of fluids in the tissues. Some are pre-cancerous. Current thinking is
that if the cyst doesn't resorb within 2 weeks of appearance, it is
best to have it excised.

Does the vet know about the color change? If not call and make sure the vet
knows.
