My cat died recently and i am trying work out the time of death, this
is well documented for humans but i can't find any info for cats.

He was cold and rigor mortis had set in 6 hours after i had last seen
him alive.  If anybody can help pease let me know.

In my (limited) experience a cat put to sleep by a vet had extensive rigor
mortis by the time it came home for burial. I'd say 90 minutes tops, could
be more like 30 or 15 though.

It is hard to judge  conditions outside how the body was in  the position
the body was in.  about 2 to 3 hours depending on conditions.  A vet local
vet who is the area should be able to help out more.  Do you think it was
foul play
