because his brother and he were the only ones in the room.

He said that years later, when he discovered that cats farted, he felt *really*
bad...

One of my kittens began emitting smelly flatulence when he was about five
'naf months old.  I went to WalMart and purchased a bottle of Acidophilus
(not quite sure of the spelling) and administered it to the cat by grinding
half a caplet in a pill grinder and mixing it in his canned food once a day.
It is harmless to cats, virtually tasteless, and it has a calming effect on
the methane gas forming properties of the intestines.

I continued this treatment for about two months.  During that period the cat
was gas free and has not had a similar condition since.

Half a caplet should be sufficient.

BTW, it is also good for humans with similarly embarrassing gas.
