Well I rescued the manx on Monday (Leone) (2yrs male) and Miss Kitty (8
yrs female) no likey.

It was so cool letting him go from the cat carrier to the apartment. I
was so interested in everything and It seemed that he was so grateful
fro being there.

He is a very chill cat . I don't think he knows how to jump on things
since  I have never seen him do it. he has tried and tried to be
friendly with Miss kitty and she just isn't having it.

What I have tried so far.
1.) I have been doing the room swaps: Miss Kitty having the roam of the
apartment and Leone in the bathroom and vice versa.

2.) I let them both roam freely when I am at home.

3.) Last night they roamed freely whil I was asleep but I suspect Miss
kitty trapped him in the bed room and he stayed under the bed.

4.) This morning I fed them together and that was the closest they got
together. Miss Kitty growled.

Leone no longer hisses or growls at her, and he tries very much to be
her friend. He's a great cat so far. I can't believe he was up for
adoption for over a month.
This morning while I was getting ready I heard a maniacal sound of
pidder-patter and I see Leone getting chased by Miss Kitty and he runs
by me and she chases him all the way under the bed and gets in his fac
(no growling or hissing)

So I put her in the bathroom till I get home.

Will Miss Kitty EVER get along with Leone??
What are you opinions on this matter.
Thanks.

Yes, but it may take weeks.

My second and third cat went like this;

1) first _week_ fear and hostility, new cat thinks I am going to eat him/her
2) second week cautious avoidance, hissing and growling at accidental
meeting
3) 2 - 4 avoidance, curiosity and some tolerance
4) total play time. pecking order worked out.

Okay good,
that is a a relief for me now that I know It can take that much time.
GREAT!!! thanks for the response.
Miss kitty is a great cat and Leone seems to be one hell of a cat also.
I am a lucky cat owner. Just  to think that 9 years a go I hated cats
and was a total dog person.
NOW I am a cat guy :)

That actually doesn't sound too bad for just 2 days of getting to know each
other. Far worse stories have been posted here. Don't rush the process. I'd
be cautious and keep on doing the room swaps when you're not home to
supervise.

Also, be extra nice to Miss Kitty  while she's learning to put up with this
"intruder" in her territory.
