Yes, our house cat loves doing that. Once a new carboard box is on the floor
after something's been unpacked,..he gets in it, bites the flaps and if you
try to play with him, he starts clawing at your finger. He'll often sleep in
cardboard boxes as well. They like the warm feel I suspect. (in winter)
This is not unusual behaviour. We had a female who if she was sitting in an
old cane chair we had, would try and claw your finger if you rustled the
loose cane ends (playing with her) it was some sort of rough play,..other
wise she was as gentle as they come.

Old Petethecat (died last year at age 19) could reduce a carboard box to
shreds in less than an hour.
Yes my kity loves to bite on boxes .. has a plastic bag fetish where
she will bite on a plastic bag then sit on it like a bird nesting eggs.
Its a really weird behavior.

My cat loves plastic bags too. She hears one rustle and comes running. I
come home from shopping and she's in the bags before I can get them emptied.
She will stay in the bag for as long as I let her.
When I have put away the groceries, I take all the bags and put them into
one bag and tie it closed and leave it by the garbage can to go out. If I
forget, by morning the bag is somewhere in the house, untied and plastic
bags are everywhere. Maybe its the noise they make. Go figure!

Siega will bite on a cardbord box sometimes... She loves to climb into
plastic bags... but recently we found that she loves to sit on
newspapers!?! She's not allowed on our kitchen table, but if the day's
paper is there she will tolerate being taken down over and over, just
so for the chance to sit on the Tribune!

My late cat (Tetsuo who died last october of a disease), couldn't stand the
noise of plastic bags :-)
When I brought back groceries, he ran away at the first plastic rustle !
But sometimes, he chased a plastic bag in the street, as we leave nearby a
supermarket, and brought it back very proudly. Once he arrived dragging a
plastic bag full of old cabbage leaves LOL
He had to walk with his paws quite wide apart to accomodate this large bag,
and kept dragging it right into the kitchen :-)
it's good to be able to remember funny things my beloved cat did, as the
hurt from his loss still arises quite regularly.
Now, we have Kumquat, the red hair tail swishing furball :-)
